Marathon day today. We started with a 7 mile climb at 16 miles. I averaged 8-9mph most of the way up. Others were slower, not many were faster. From then on, we travelled along Route 2 to Spokane. Now this is a straight road. Wheat fields either side, or dirt. Not a lot else. Scrub that, nothing else! This makes for a classic trial by bicycle. I thought the day wasn't going to end. I was wrecked at the end and so was everybody else.

We had a mexican this evening, as this was the nearest restaurant. It was a struggle walking across the street. Good news though, I finally slept OK for the first time since arriving!

Mike and the road.

The same road 80 miles further along.

Well - even if the road looked the same all day - your trip is more interesting than good old British weather. When will the rain stop!?

Sounds like a good experience and always nice to know you're not the only one hurting at the end of the day (sorry everyone else!).

Excitement for today for me is taking Hettie to dog agility for the first time. Could be good or could be a disaster!

Have a good ride today.
